If you’re replacing a broken spring on a two-spring door, replace both. The second spring is the same age and usually weeks from failing, so doing the pair now keeps the door balanced and saves you a second service call soon after.
Ask about a high-cycle upgrade while the system is apart. For a small added cost, a high-cycle spring rated 25,000 or more cycles can last two to three times longer than a standard 10,000-cycle spring, which pays off on a door you open many times a day.
