Run the daylight test. Close the door, stand inside, and look for light around the edges. Any light you can see is dust, water, heat, and pests getting in, and it’s the clearest sign your seals are done.
In LA, always replace seals with UV-resistant material. Standard rubber dries out and cracks fast under the sun, especially on west- and south-facing doors, so a heat-rated seal easily lasts years longer for a small difference in cost.
